in the meantime again a lull in activities to end soon-
at least from the Gruzemayer point of view -
though some blogs have continued, lots of the former activities have been spread to other areas...
is this a divestment? who Nose?? look out for the summer activity shedule- Borinage
Back again,
lucky for us there has not really been that much going on that we can share,
due to the Covid situation most activities have been shut down, but
this does not mean we have been idle..
on the contrary, getting back to some basic activities and
re-booting old projects that have become somewhat pushed aside..
Have been reconsidering the reconfiguration of the game plan for Gruzemayer but have always come into conflict with matters that seemed to warrant immediate attention, so, putting off the intended plan, ending up off on a tangent and then, at a certain point, no longe knowing how it all came to this - whatever it is...
And it seemed so simple – just plod along and deliver at regular intervals a nice little report on the goings-on and perhaps some commentary in an entertaining sort of way in order to keep it all from becoming dreadfully boring and useless – run of the mill diatribe about nothing at all... but lo and behold, before one can even consider that this might be the case, it is!
How many issues have now gone unpublished, how many reports unreported, and important things forgotten along the way – yes just plain forgotten, so as not even to be able to describe what it was that was forgotten, and so making it impossible to even attempt to find it or send out a search party into the wilderness without a clue of what has to be found... at the same time reams and reams on information and copies thereof clog the shelves where other, more pertinent material should be and lots and lots of information just freely flows past the window down the gutter like rain after a heavy cloudburst – and nothing we can do about it... save perhaps to register the fact and make note of it in the annals of the passing information, useless now since it has gone down the drain.
Bureau Gruzemayer did not intend to become its own administrative nightmare, but it has... much like any accounting firm or publisher of anonymous lists of wares and fares going up and down by a few percentage points each day, repeating themselves on the way up or down as the case my be, and only relevant to a very few people for a very short amount of time- while ideally, originally and with some naïve verve, the idea was to produce a body of useful and interesting prose for a wide audience of interested parties to share and disseminate all over... yes, why not?
When taking over the operations from editions in no cent, one so avidly wanted to avoid pitfalls and delays – at first it was paramount to deliver on time – no matter how rough or poorly presented – it had to be there at the promised moment... of course the deadlines stared to slide and even the general area of expertise was abandoned for incidental, even loopy copy, and not even on time, much profuse excuse being propagated to explain away the sheer incompetence and mismanagement of – well; let us say everyone's time and energy... no wonder the writers left in droves... it had all become a joke.
Apparently, it comes from a military slang word for the dash used in Morse code (iddy being the one for dot) – and so, in these strange times we find ourselves making new references (daesh) and to an extent again related to the east...
(here squeezing through a barricade corridor in the Hingene Castle d'Ursel....)
Already more than ten years Bureau Gruzemayer...
At this point we are considering rebooting and revamping this site since the (old) one is already stating to fray... what with constant renewal of software and apps and updating browsers etc it has all become somewhat unstable and difficult to work with – already, one has to consider, it was a revamped ‘crashsite’ of the F44, then FooF44 and finally Bureau Gruzemayer... Another aspect is that one wonders how much interest there is for regular updates and such, given that fleeting ‘social media’ has taken up lots of that role, and in fact only general descriptions and history are the main reason to have a site at all...
So, taking into account these aspects, we will try to gather material for a historical overview and general information about the aims of the operation, with only occasionally updates on activities.
The current (old) site will remain online, and even on occasion be updated, seen how many have the old address in their browser.. but more and more reference will be made to this site as of spring 2018.
Latest: Well the thing has been taken out of my hands- as if jinxed the provider that hosted the old site has suddenly decided no longer to support it unless I subscribe to one of their regular offers... which was not the case at the time – the trickydickys expect you to be so dismayed at losing all the info posted on the site as to be forced to pay up... modern highway robbery – but alas, I will transfer relevant information now and again, in the full knowledge this too is probably temporary, as is life... (but it does put another dent into my idea of using the web as a back-up/archive-like space... as with any digital device, less stable than billed)
in the mean time....
there are also various blogs related, as well as associate sites of diversified operations such as dep.Interdep and a resurgent ‘Livrerie Pharmacie’... more soon.
bureau gruzemayer / Due (L98)
originally set up during the changeover from the F44/F46 site to the new location at L 98 (that's why Due) this site never got off the ground, and the old site continues until this day- but now time is ripe to reboot this project, since it seems perhaps more versatile than the old one, up to date on the technical side, and anyway, always good to have a change of scenery...
SO
Lost and found again it seems,

beginning to get into shape
After quite a bit of to-and-froing the offices of 'bureau gruzemayer' (due) are getting back into shape... there has been a bit of activity on the e-publication side, with some blogs and some print-on-demand productions, along with short sharp participations here & there.... but only now, along with some better weather and less stress, are the creative juices starting to flow again.
Next in line is a project by ORC - Odie Rynell Cash - as part of his sojourn in the low-country area (Rotterdam) and slated for mid-may. (there has been a short particiaption-intervention already at oostend on easter monday- see also patacycliste.be)
His next move will be a continuation of the 'situation prompted' series at the Poortgebouw in Rotterdam on the 29th of April - see www.poortgebouw.nl and his blog "offsiderstudy.blogspot.com" - for the upcoming project at bureau Gruzemayer check out gruze's old haunt "home.scarlet.be/gruzemayer".
more soon.
